Medical Web Design: Cosmetically Speaking

Standard

One of the most important types of medical web design out there is cosmetic web design. By this I mean doctors that specialize in cosmetic surgery. The reason for this being that most people who are considering cosmetic surgery are really looking to do a lot of research on the subject beforehand. Whether it is research on the type of surgery they are looking at or the doctor that they are going to trust with their outward appearance. If you are a doctor making a website you should think about a few things. One being, how are you going to show that you are experienced? What are you going to put as far as information on your website? How easy is the information to find?

Showing you are a knowledgeable and well-experienced cosmetic surgeon is a hard thing to show people. They can either believe you or not. This is what images are perfect for. You want to have a good amount of text explaining your credentials and all the work that you have done previously. You also want images to go along with this. I would suggest having a page dedicated to before and after pictures of your patients. This will be the deal breaker. More people are going to be looking at your before and after pictures than reading any of your text. People are visual creatures and that’s just fact.

Your information should reflect your professionalism and your ability to be personable. Try to write as if there was someone really sitting there listening to you talk. The information that is on your site should be a home page welcoming telling potential patients a little bit about what you do. There should be an about us/me section explaining, as said above, your credentials and a little about yourself. Another page should be dedicated to your services, meaning all the types of cosmetic surgeries that you can perform. This page should be chock full of information about each type of surgery, the procedure, and anything else you can let the patient in on. This would also be a good place to have a link to your images (before & after). The last bit of information is your contact page that should have your number and location.

You should always make sure that your navigation is easy to use and straight to the point. Never having someone searching for a bit of information or whatever they may be looking for. Navigation is important in medical web design because there is so much competition out there that the potential patient can just go to someone else’s website. Keep this in mind when designing your medical web page. Want to learn more about medical web design? Visit us at DreamCo Design – Medical Web Design.
