With everything changing over to digital and 35mm slowly leaving the stage, a lot of photographers are going to have to buy all new equipment if they haven’t already. But is this digital wave really better than the classic 35mm, or are we just enthralled by the ease and the functionality of this newer media?

Digital photography and photography web design has hit the scene with a splash for professionals and consumers alike. The cameras that once required a 2md mortgage to buy now cost between $200-$400, if you’re just looking for the run of the mill digital camera. A professional one can cost you any where from $1000 for a decent one to $6000 and that does not include the different lenses that you would need to buy. So needless to say it is costing these professionals a small fortune to switch over to this new media. Most of the people buying these newer “point and shoot digital” cameras are getting these cameras simply do to the ease of use. There are still folks out there that have no clue on how to load up a 35mm camera. So it is a natural choice to switch over to the digital cameras. But if you’re a professional would it really be worth it just simply due to the ease of use.

With everything getting faster these days people have totally lost their patience. We are an instant gratification society, not quite fully yet but definitely by the time our kids have kids. We still expect results and we want them yesterday. Well the digital camera and a photography website can give that to the populace. Take a picture, bam it’s displayed right in the LCD screen. Need pictures fast, go home download and print them up or put them on your photography website. No more filling out the envelopes at the local Walgreens or Jewel, and having to wait an hour for prints. What a pain?
This way of thinking is slowly going to bring on the destruction of civilization, but that’s a story for latter. This is mostly only true for the consumer with the “point and shoot” cameras and not so much true of the professional. The professional photographer is going to have a tad more patience with things simply because this is more to them then pictures at a family BBQ. This is their craft and many take it really seriously. The digital media allows the professional to upload the photographs on their computers almost instantly so they can adjust or manipulate them using Photoshop then get them up on their photography website. This does speed up there business allowing the professional to do more in less time. No more scanning photographs to the computer to adjust them.

The computer really has become a one stop shop for digital photographers. This digital media also allows the professional photographer to post the pictures online so the customer can look at them and decide which pictures they would want. Of course this is a reason for a professional photographer to get on the ball and get a photography website. A photography website will bring a new world of customer service for the professional. So it looks like digital photography is here to stay. It has the consumers in a strangle hold and the professional photographers as well. Each of these groups can benefit from a photography website to show your customers or just show family and friends.
