Music Web Design: D-Day

Standard

Waiting for your music website to be completed is one of the most boring times of the whole project. You’ll be anxiously awaiting the finished product and it may seem like it is taking forever. There really is a lot that goes into a well designed website that has a lot of functionality, so don’t try to rush your developer into getting it finished as quick as possible. Although you shouldn’t rush them, there should be a deadline set for your developer/designer. These kinds of things should be decided and agreed upon by you and your web designer at the very beginning of the design of your music website.

Having a deadline set doesn’t mean that you should, all of a sudden, get angry when that date comes to pass. There can be and are a lot of little things that can go wrong or delay your project from being done at the exact date it was supposed to be. The deadline for your music website should be more like an estimated due date rather than a set one. Think about it this way, if you talk with your web designer/developer and they give you a date of estimated completion this is all dependant on things like: if you get your content to them in a timely manner, if they are a responsible developer, and if you don’t have any major changes during revisions.

Deadlines are meant to keep everyone on task and motivated. It’s the best way to make sure that your music website is going to be done by a certain time. There should always be a time set no matter what so that everyone stays on task and focused on the project.
