Wedding/ Event Web Design: Salt & Sand

Standard

So now you’ve learned about the whole process of creating and building a wedding/ event website. There is a lot that goes into it and a lot expected to come out of it. I told you in a previous post about the possible upkeep that is going to have to take place with owning a website. Even though you may think you’re done, you’re not! There is more to do and some people don’t even know about this step. Granted there are quite a few that do and it is very important to them, but for some it doesn’t even come to mind. I’m talking about search engine optimization, or in other words, SEO. This little concoction of words means a whole lot to a lot of different websites.

The basic explanation for the question, “what is search engine optimization?” is this: everything! Search engine optimization does so much for your website that it would be almost pointless to have a wedding/ event website without having some search engine optimization work done. Think about trying to find a piece of salt in a huge pile of sand. Now transfer this though over to the internet. There is literally millions of websites out there on all different topics. Your website is the salt and people want to be able to find it without digging through all the sand. Search engine optimization is the best way to help your wedding/ event website be found on the internet.

Without knowing what your exact web address is, no one will be able to find your wedding/ event website without using a search engine. Searching for your key terms won’t make any progress if you don’t have SEO work done. They will be lucky to find you on one of the first five pages of the search engine results. Don’t ever let your website just sit on the internet without bringing you anything. Ask about SEO with your web design company and they will either have something they can offer you or point you in the right direction.
