Website Marketing: That’s The Keyword

Keywords, keywords, keywords. If you want to be found on the Internet keywords should be your best friend, your closest compadre, your aimgo. There are a few different things you can do with these bad boys to make you website easily found by search engines. But first before we get to where to put them and all that, you have to pick your keywords first! What is your website about? What services or information do you offer? An easy way to think about it is, what words do you use on the phone the most when talking about your business or website? These are your keywords. When someone thinks about you, these are the words that they describe you by.

So now you have your keywords. Which keep in mind, you should probably have a few, maybe around three or four. Now placement is the next step. Placing your keywords around your site is an art. Not only because there are so many rules from the search engine companies about it, but because you don’t want to sound too commercial either. Trying to be personable is the best way to win customers. To optimize your search engine position the best place to have your keywords is at the top of your web-page. This means your title tags, meta-tags, headings, graphic images and anywhere else suitable in the coding of the site. If you don’t know how to go about doing this chance are that you have a web designer doing your sight for you. If this is the case, make sure to express to you designer how important it is that he put your keywords in the areas I mentioned.

The content of your website also helps in the standing of your website. When writing the content for your website you should think about strategically placing your keywords throughout your text where applicable. You should not, however, put your keywords in too frequently. If this happens it is known as “spamming the index” and you could be penalized by the major search engines for it. This means possible black-listing of your website. So don’t even think about it.

This is the basics of keywording your site. It’s a great strategy for website marketing that is sure to help you be found by search engines. Web Design Services: Search Engine Optimization

If you want to make it in today’s world of technology and the Internet, there is nothing more important than search engine optimization. Without search engine optimization it doesn’t matter how well you website is put together because no one is going to find it. Most people use Yahoo or Google to search for a term to find a website that is closely related to what they typed in. These terms link people directly to your website and that’s what you’re going for; trying to bring people in. There are a lot of factors that go into what a search engine is looking for in each website to either have it first or last on the huge list that comes up when you hit that little enter button. Coding, presentation, content and structure of a website are all parts of search engine optimization.  Don’t know how to do search engine optimization? Not a lot of people do. That’s why companies get away with charging a fortune for search engine optimization.

Lucky for you DreamCo Design offers free search engine optimization when you get a website designed through us. I am proud to say that most of our customers come up on the first or second page of search engines when someone searches for their terms. This is a big deal! That means when someone searches for your terms, your right up there, waiting to be clicked on. Not only that but your website will look fantastic as well. All this will increase your website’s value to visitors.

There are a lot of other companies out there offering search engine optimization. You should be weary when selecting certain companies. There are a few guidelines to go by. You should know that no one can guarantee a #1 spot on any of the search engines. I read that there is no special or priority submits for Google or Yahoo. So everyone submits through the same page. Secondly, make sure you know exactly what a company plans or intends to do to optimize your web page. Make sure they are using white hat techniques, or techniques that are acceptable to the search engine. Third, companies who have you submit your link to them are pretty worthless, in fact, they may affect your website in a negative way rather than positive. These are the three main tips I can give to a someone out there who is looking to optimize their website through a professional. If you go to each different search engine I’m sure you can find even more helpful advice to guide you in choosing a professional search engine optimizer.
