After your jewelry website has been built there is an important after-step that you should really think about having done if you want to be found when your site becomes live. I’m talking about search engine optimization or SEO, which can be done in many different ways. Having SEO done on your jewelry website is going to benefit you in the best way. Without having any search engine optimization done on your website there is a very slim chance that anyone is going to be able to find your website while searching on the major engines like Google or Yahoo.

Most people in search of jewelers are going to look up terms like “jewelry store, jewelers in (location)” and so forth. Without SEO, you won’t come up at all within the first fifty pages; and if someone is looking on page number fifty for a jeweler, I don’t know, it just won’t happen. Having someone who knows search engine optimization and has knowledge of all the different techniques available is beneficial to your website. With the proper techniques your website will be able to be found on your key terms and on the broader terms too. Though you may not be the highest on the list you should at least be one of the first few pages.

Most web design companies will offer to do some SEO work for you or be able to point you in the right direction in that area. If you go with a freelancer, there is usually not much SEO work that is going to be done. Each freelancer is different and it is important that you find out about SEO with the web designer that you choose to work with.

In my last post I began talking about the different qualities that your web designer should have. This goes for all websites not just jewelry web design. I started talking about reliability and trustworthiness and how it is important that you feel your web designer has both of these qualities. The other ones I mentioned were quality and professionalism. Making sure that your web designer has done quality work and will continue to do quality work for you on your website is important.

Before choosing a web designer for your jewelry website make sure that they show you what they have done in the past. All web designers should have something they can give you on what projects they have completed. If they don’t have anything they can show you then they are probably not going to fit your needs if you want a good looking website. Everyone has to start somewhere and it’s not bad if they don’t have a resume to show you, they are most likely just not experienced yet.

The other quality that is important is professionalism. Although there is nothing wrong with having a more casual relationship with your web designer it is still important to have that level of professionalism to where you can talk to them on a more serious level. Make sure that your web designer knows what their place is and that you are relying on them for something that is serious to you. There should be no problems in this area in a normal case. Picking out who you want to build your jewelry website is something that you should really put some thought into.

When choosing a web designer for your jewelry website there are some guidelines that you should know before even starting your search. Most customers who are in need of web design don’t really know what they should be looking for. Although they have an idea of what they would like personally in their web designer, they don’t realize what they should be looking for professionally. Along with good customer service, which is very important no matter if they are a web design company or a freelancer, the other attributes should definitely be there.

The different attributes that I am talking about are reliability, quality, if they are trustworthy, and professionalism. I tend to think that all of these qualities are equally as important as the other. Reliability is key because you have to make sure that your web designer is going to stick around for your project after you pay them. There are some people out there that use a customer’s naivety to scam money out of them. Making a deal with them and then taking the money and disappearing is the usual case; this also leads into trustworthiness. You should obviously trust your web designer/ web design company with a lot of things.

The ability to trust your web designer should come to you as you talk with them about your project and learn how they go about things. Learning as much about your web designer/ web design company is going to benefit you in the long run and make you feel better about doing business with them. I find that trusting your web designer comes a lot easier if you are working with a web design company as compared to a freelance web designer. They are an established company and actually have a business started out of this. There really is not a chance that an established web design company is going to up and disappear on you.

As soon as you have a web designer chosen and have made a list of the websites that you enjoy, the next step you should do is figure out what functions you want out of your jewelry website. What do you want your jewelry website to be able to do? What do you want your customers able to do on your website? These questions are generally used to probe at what functions you are going to be need from your jewelry website. Functionality of a website is something that you aren’t seeing visually, it is how your website works and what its features are. A thing like a customer being able to buy your products on the site is a type of function, or a customer being able to look through your inventory is another.

Your web designer will also guide you in finding out what will work best as far as functions go one your jewelry website. There are a lot of things that you can learn from your web designer. They help you figure out almost everything with your website, and if they don’t offer to help you figure anything out then you should probably reconsider using them. Your web designer should be helpful in all ways and have good customer service views. They can’t expect everyone to know what they want and what is going to be the best for them and their business. This is why they should be guiding you in your decisions so that you feel comfortable with what you are getting.

There are a lot of different functions that your jewelry website can have. Although not all are necessary and the more you add on the more the price goes up, in most cases. Try to think about what your customers are going to want and what you would like to be able to do on your website. By thinking all of these details out beforehand you will save yourself a lot of hassle and stress later.

Having your jewelry website stand out from all the others is your best bet for persuading customers into using your website and buying your merchandise. Humans in general are very visual people and having something that is visually stimulating is going to entice more people to use your website. Think about seeing a plain white website as opposed to a white website with some color or something! The one that stimulates you is going to win you over. It’s science.

There are many different ways to design your website and you should do a lot of research to figure out what you want it to look like. By making a list you can have all the different attributes that you enjoy all written down and ready to share with your web designer when you meet. Having a list of websites that you enjoyed looking at that you can give to your web designer will benefit both of you. This way you can be sure that they know what you are looking for, as far as the visual side of things, in your jewelry website. It benefits them by being able to have examples to go off when building your jewelry website.

You should go over this list with your web designer to tell him what it is on each site that you enjoyed. Go over what it would take to have these visual effects on your jewelry website and see what advice they can offer on each website that you were looking at. The web designer can give you good advice on what he/she thinks is going to work for you because they are in the business of doing it. Listen to their advice because they will be able to guide you into making some good decisions for your site to optimize its efforts to bring you new customers.

I talked a little in my previous posts about how your jewelry website benefits your business. There are even benefits for your customers and potential to make new customers. I also gave advice on how you should have information on your website about buying jewelry. This way your customers can get a feel for how you want to help them and they can become educated at the same time. I want to give you some more information about building a jewelry website. Your jewelry website can look and feel like whatever you want. It is up to your creative mind to figure out what you want. A web designer or web design company can help you with getting ideas of what will look good and what has been working so far on the internet.

There are many different ways to have your website designed. In fact, the possibilities are really almost limitless. If you have the right tools and the right web designer, you can test the boundaries of web design. Even if this doesn’t sound like you and you’d rather have a somewhat plain jewelry website there is no problem with that. I am merely letting you know that you can do anything you want and that it is completely up to you. There are a couple of ways to get ideas for you jewelry website. The best way is to look at other websites to see what attributes you like about them.

A website that stands out from others is going to be the one that gets the most attention. You should strive to be different from all the other “cookie-cutter” websites and stand out on your own as a jewelry website.

Having a jewelry website dedicated to you business exclusively is one of the best things that you can do for your company. There are many people who go on the internet every day to do research on jewelry and what jeweler to use. This of course depends on a lot of things, like your style of jewelry. Someone who doesn’t like your style is obviously not going to buy it. You should still have a website dedicated to your jewelry. One piece of advice I can give is to have LOTS of QUALITY pictures of your different jewelry pieces. There are so many jewelry websites out there that have tons of pictures, but they don’t look very well taken. This is bad for your company because it makes customers think you are not very professional as a jeweler, even though you may be.

There is a great benefit to having a jewelry website if you are selling unique pieces and that is: that someone might be looking for what you’re selling! Having a jewelry website makes you accessible to the entire world. Now that’s marketing! You never know when someone is going to find your pieces breathtaking and become a lifetime customer because of it; and they might reside across an ocean. It’s amazing what you can do with the internet and business.

Not only is your jewelry website good for marketing, it is good for selling as well. You can have your jewelry website set up to be able to sell pieces without having to do anything but the shipping of the product and collecting of the money. Selling online is great for jewelers looking to expand their range of business.

Having a jewelry website is a great way to advertise your inventory of jewelry and what you specialize in. There is plenty of competition out there between jewelry outlets and custom jewelers. With so many different business owners out there in this area you really have to stand out. In my last post I talked a bit about who would be using these types of websites and briefly about what they could be used for. I plan to talk with you a little bit more about what the benefits of having a jewelry website dedicated to your business are and show you why getting a jewelry website built is a no-brainer.

I talked for a moment above about standing out. Having a jewelry website would help you in the most tremendous way in that aspect. There are jewelry stores and jewelers everywhere. So how do people choose who they want to buy from? Well, if they are buying online they decide on a jeweler by their inventory and seeing if they are going to work well with the person. Most people go into a jewelry store to look at their pieces because there really is no better way to pick a piece out then to physically see it; but some people can’t do that. They don’t have the time or the jeweler they want to use is too far away to go back and forth to. This is where the jewelry website comes into play.

By giving customers a glance at what you have to offer, they can try and make somewhat of a decision as to what they are looking for. There are going to be those people who don’t know anything about jewelry and it is your jewelry website that has to educate them somewhat. If they feel that you are there to help they will feel more comfortable using you as their jeweler.

If you’re looking to learn about jewelry and how to choose a piece out then jewelry websites will come in handy for you. There are plenty of jewelry websites out there that have more than enough information on them to make sure you are educated and comfortable in buying pieces of jewelry with them. I mean, it only makes sense that the businesses you are buying your jewelry from educate you on the subject if you are not familiar with it. This is not the only reason that jewelry websites are built, they are obviously also there to sell their business and/or jewelry to consumers.

Having a jewelry website up and live on the internet can help a lot of different people. It helps the business owner, and all types of customers. Customers that are looking for information, even if they are not using your store to buy from they can still gather valuable information to help them in their decision for buying jewelry. Who knows? Maybe they will even decide to use your business to buy from after learning how knowledgeable you are with your products.

Everyone out there buys jewelry at one time or another; whether it is a ring, necklace, earrings, or even a watch. As a consumer you should be well educated in what you are looking to buy before going in to buy it. Having this knowledge will give you the upper hand in knowing the quality of jewelry you are obtaining. There are many jewelry website on the internet that offer you their knowledge; be sure to use this to your advantage.

I was just working on a jewelry web design project yesterday. Writing out content for a jewelry website. As I was writing, I realized that I didn’t know anything about jewelry. How to pick something out, how many different cuts there are, the different stones, how to differentiate a good stone from a bad one, and how to care for and clean jewelry. It’s amazing all the information there is to know about the subject. Since I had to write all about jewelry and how to choose it and all that good stuff I mentioned before; I’m confident that I’m going to be very knowledgeable when it is time for me to go pick a piece out for myself. Happy that I wrote it and happy that I read it. That’s how customers are going to feel when the read the same information on your jewelry website. The content of your jewelry website is still a big part of jewelry web design.

I would highly recommend that you put some pages up of information about all the subjects that I mentioned above. I would also suggest that you go into great detail about each topic. This is not only beneficial to the customer, who now knows exactly what they are looking for and how much they are willing to spend. But to you as well, who doesn’t have to explain each and every little detail to someone who has no clue. Whether they are coming into the store or ordering online is no difference.

It’s a shame that most jewelry websites don’t have any information about the jewelry they are selling. People go on or come in and see something pretty but are reserved about buying it because they don’t know anything about, let’s say, those little numbers and symbols engraved on the jewelry. Or they don’t know if your charging them too much based on the actual value of the piece or stone. People who are informed can make informed decisions. For example, if I were to walk into a jewelry store before reading on your website all the things I needed to know, I might not buy that gemstone I was looking at because it has a tiny flaw in it. If I were informed I would realized that the tiny flaw that turned me off probably makes the gemstone even more valuable! Simple little mistake, but a lost sale nonetheless.

With all this in mind I’m sure most of you reading will be well on your way to writing up some informative content about all the little things there are to know about jewelry. Boosting those sales and in turn bringing in more customer. No, no… don’t thank me. I do it for you.
