Fashion Web Design: Optimize!

February 13, 2008 8:55 am

So your fashion website is done and up, fully functioning and ready to go. There are a few more loose ends to take care of though before you are performing at your optimum capacity. The loose end I’m talking about is search engine optimization or SEO to a lot of people. Without this important piece of the puzzle taken in consideration your fashion website will be almost nothing in a sea of rushing waves. I’m talking about the internet of course. Getting search engine optimization done on your website is how you’re going to be found on the internet by those that don’t know your exact URL or know you at all.

Search engine optimization for your fashion website is one of the most important steps. There are many different things that you can do to ensure that your site can be found. These techniques are changing all the time and being molded into better ways to go about search engine optimization. This is why larger companies have teams of SEO people working on their websites at all times; making sure that it’s number one in the search engines or close to it. Search engine optimization is like on big competition, and there are good ways to go about it and there are bad ways. There are also ways out there to cheat the system and scam others. With all the different information to learn about SEO it is better to let a professional do the SEO work on your fashion website.

Search engine optimization is a business in its own and there are people paying a lot of money just to have it done. Some web design companies offer SEO work and some don’t. Even if your web design company doesn’t offer SEO you should still make sure to have it done on your fashion website.           Having a fashion website built is an investment; not only with money, but with all the time and effort put into it. Everyone working together to make sure that it is working and functional, that you won’t have problems with maintaining it, and that your satisfied with it. Having a website built is like buying a car; it’s something that you spend money in the hopes that it will bring something to the table for you. A car obviously brings transportation even though its value decreases steadily. A fashion website on the other hand only increases in value. As your fashion website is built you should think about the business that will be brought in from it.

People all across the country and world will be able to view your fashion website; now that’s publicity. There are so many ways that a fashion website can show its value to you after it is built and live on the internet. As your business grows, so will your fashion website. There are going to most likely be some adjustments made on your website to make sure that it is working to its full potential. This will, in turn, help you generate more revenue; it’s a money making cycle that is too good to pass by.

Eventually in the future your website will be flourishing as well as your business. They go hand in hand and having a fashion website will never bring your business down in any way. There are only benefits to having a fashion website dedicated to you and your business. Knowing all this, be prepared to invest a reasonable amount of money into your future and your fashion website. Fashion Web Design: Funk-tion

February 12, 2008 8:17 am

Taking a look back on everything that we’ve covered you can see how deciding to create a fashion website is a process. We talked previously about who could use and benefit from a fashion website, the short answer to that is, a lot of people. We also discussed the way you should go about getting your project started; from getting ideas to choosing a trustworthy web designer. In my most recent post we talked about content and how you involved in the development of your fashion website as well. I feel it necessary to talk about the function of your website and who you are building your fashion website for.

Although it is a little out of order, this is still an important topic. This should be thought about before beginning the construction of your fashion website. This way you are able to tell your web designer what you want your visitor’s/customers to be able to do on your website. With a fashion website you need to think about if you want to sell online. If so, that is going to require a shopping cart function, which is going to give you the ability to receive revenue from your website without having to do anything. This also takes more time and cost more money to have; so think about these things before going to a web designer.

All of the functions you want to have on your site will help decide on how many pages you will need, how much your fashion website is going to cost, and how long the website is going to take to build. So as you can see, it is imperative that you mention any specific things that you want out of your website. Fashion Web Design: Graphic Content

7:48 am

As soon as your fashion website starts to be built you should be ready and willing to give anything and everything you can to help the process along. Even if you have someone else building your website for you there is still some work that you need to put into the site. Things like content and images that you want for your fashion website need to be given to the web designer. Although you can opt to hire a content writer to do all that for you, even they are still going to need some information from you. You can’t have a fashion website built and not do anything to contribute till it’s done. It just won’t get finished.

A website is only as good as its content, and it also can’t be built without it. A web designer can make a mock-up of a website without all your content in it, but what good would it do if all the pictures and text weren’t there? Isn’t that the point of your fashion website? There is only so much a web designer can do without your content and then all construction on the site stops till you get your act together. Giving the content over to the web designer is one of the most important steps in website development and it’s all on you. Try to be timely in giving your content or information to your web designer.

Not giving content on time usually results in a later completion date; this is just normal. If a due date is assessed by your web designer, you have to meet yours too. If you are able to produce your content to the web designer quickly, your fashion website is bound to keep moving forward on its path to glory. For more information on fashion web design check us out at DreamCo Design - Fashion Web Design. Fashion Web Design: The Fit Is Go

February 11, 2008 9:42 am

When choosing a web designer for your fashion website you should think about if they fit what you are looking for. Not only should they have a portfolio for you to look at their previous work, they should also be able to take care of you and your fashion website. Try meeting/talking with a few web designers or web design companies before choosing one, unless one strikes you as perfect and you really would like to work with them. You should get a few quotes from different web design companies and see what you’re looking at as far as a range in price and quality. Your web designer should be professional with you as well as friendly and trustworthy. It is important to trust your web designer especially if you are using a freelancer because there have been cases where people have lost a lot of money from being scammed. It is easy for a freelancer or someone working independently to just “disappear”. Get a good feel for your web designer/web design company.

With all the choices you have out there for possible web designers you shouldn’t ever run out of options. There are plenty of people and companies out there wanting your business, let them duke it out. Choosing a designer that values your importance is going to help you develop a close relationship with them. This is especially important if you’re going to be hosting your website with them or having them do updates to your site. Try to be friendly and courteous to your web designer but also assertive about your needs.

As the soon to be owner of a fashion website you should be heavily involved in its construction. You’re going to be the owner after all, and if you don’t know how to make your own adjustments to your site (most don’t, hence going to a web designer for your fashion website) it is best to make sure that you are getting what you want.
