So you’ve decided to make a contractor website dedicated to your business. You’ve gone past the first step. You hire a web design company to build your glorious site for you; making sure to give them all the content they need to make you look like an extremely experience professional contractor. Congratulations! You are now live on the internet, you contractor website looks great and you’ve had… zero traffic? That can’t be right. Well, yes it is.

Having the best looking website is no good unless you have SEO power to back it up. So you think, I just spent all this money making sure my website looked kick ass and now I have to pay for SEO!? In most cases yes. There are companies that spend millions of dollars on SEO just to make sure that they are the ones on top when their terms are searched for on the major search engines. You can never be guaranteed to be number one. It’s a very hard thing to do to even be on page one for your terms at all. It’s possible, but hard.

When search engines scan your website to see how relevant it is to the terms people are looking for there are a few things that come into play. Your tags are one; this means title tags, meta tags, and all that jazz. The second thing is content. Remember all that content you wrote up? Well it helps, especially if you wrote about contracting services (and why wouldn’t you? It’s the whole point of your site). SEO is definitely something worth investing in. Otherwise there really is no hope for people on the internet being able to find you on a search engine. Having a website is always a positive, but being found for your terms is even better.

There are a lot of things that go into a website before it even starts to be built. The steps up to creating the website are few but very detail oriented. The first thing is to decide that you went a website. Making that first decision is the first little baby step. The next thing to worry about is picking who you want to build and design your contractor website. There is a lot involved with this because there is a lot to think about when choosing a web design company. After you have chosen someone to do your website the next steps is the actual building of it. This takes a lot of cooperation between you and your web designer.

All of the content on a website should be provided by you. Content is all the text and pictures that are going to be put up on your website. Hopefully you have a lot of pictures taken from previous jobs and projects. It would benefit you to make these pictures as professional as possible. There are a lot of websites out there that have tons of pictures up, but they look like they were taken with a disposable camera. Try to use pictures that showcase the finished project. It helps show customers your level of professionalism. You should have pictures from each type of area you work in. Some contractors have specific jobs they do, like landscaping jobs. Some do everything and if you do, you should have pictures from a variety of different projects to show potential customers what your business is capable of.

There is a lot of thought that goes into the text of your website as well. It would be best if you wrote your own content because the person who knows the most about your business is, of course, you! If you choose to write your own content make sure that you write in a professional manner and with good grammar and such. Try to write so that your customers feel welcome and like they are really reading something that was written by a human. If you opt to have someone else write your content (usually the web design company will have a content writer on staff) you should still put together something that really explains everything you want to be included on the website. That way the content writer can put together all your information in a professional and correct way. With both these areas under your control you’ll definitely have a lot of work to do in your free time.

While there are a lot of benefits to having a contractor website; bringing in a lot more business for you and the flexibility to having a way to communicate with your customers. There comes a lot of responsibility with having a contractor website. Building a website is a process for a web designer and it’s an investment for a business owner such as yourself. You can never get something for nothing, this is obvious, but how much you plan on giving is where your contractor website’s future lies.

There are a lot of things that goes into building websites and each web designer/web design company is different in how their rates are. You should get quotes from a few different people/companies. I would suggest going with a web design company because they end up being more professional and their work turn out much better. Not in all cases mind you, there are freelancers out there that are great at what they do and if you happen to find one that you trust and does great work then by all means go with it. Companies are usually better with the business side of things because they are an actual business and not just a random person.

Depending on what you want your website to do and how you’d like it to function is where the price comes from. Some companies charge for the design and how it looks, it just depends on who you go with. Make sure to ask these questions when talking to each of the companies you are thinking about. If you are not prepared to spend a lot of money on your contractor website I would suggest waiting and saving up money. There are a couple reasons for this. One of the reasons is that even though having any website up on the internet will help you, eventually you are going to want to make it look a little better and more professional. If it happens this way you’ll end up spending twice to have a website built. It’s pretty much a waste and you could just wait, save a little, and get a very professional website built that you’ll use for a long time and possibly never change it again. Make smart decisions and you’ll end up with the perfect website for you.

I briefly mentioned before how contractors could and should have a website built for their business. That there are no cons about having a contractor website built and how you could increase your number of customers by just having something up. It is especially helpful if you are living or working in a smaller area where there is not a lot of competition. I’ll further explain the benefits of having a website dedicated and designed to fully showcase your contractor business.

By creating a contractor website you should see a lot of the benefits come through pretty quickly. There will be a lot of people finding your website on the internet and in turn you should be seeing an increase in business. Although it may not be instant, by having a website you will get business from it. There are a lot of people out there that turn to the internet to search for services that they require. Not having a website is keeping your company/business from reaching its full potential. Although having any old website will still help your business, it is better to have a quality website built by web design professionals because it will impress potential customers more so than a flat boring website.

Another benefit to creating a website is that it gives you the option to receive emails from potential customers. Most people won’t call a contractor just to ask some questions that they may have about their upcoming project. They usually feel silly or assume that the contractor doesn’t have the time to answer them. By having this contact form/email you are free to answer potential customer’s questions and possibly lure them into using you for their project. The basic benefit to other people that your website offers is that it makes them feel comfortable talking to you and using you. The better they feel about you and your business the more likely they are to stop looking for a contractor and decide to go through you.

One thing the world will never run out of is contractors; all different kinds of them everywhere. It makes it really difficult to pick one out of the bunch. Especially if you’ve never used a contractor’s services before. Most people in this situation turn to the internet for information about who they should pick and who is out there to choose. Most of the time they enter a broad search like contractor or landscaping and would get results for larger companies who work nationwide. Sometimes they will be looking for a contractor that is local to the area; this is where your website should be listed. Don’t have a website? Then I guess you won’t get the work.

Having a website is one of the best things that a contractor like yourself can do for your business. It will get you instant exposure, especially around your area of work. Most contractors are smaller businesses that situate themselves around an area or even a state. A website can show potential customers a lot about your business. If you have a lot of information for a customer to read up on they will be more secure with hiring you for their contracting needs. There is always work going on that is in need of a professional contractor, making your business available on the internet will always be helpful. There is no downfall to having a website, it will always help.

There are always going to be other contractors in the area competing with your company for jobs. By having a website, when they do not, you automatically give yourself an edge against them. A website that you can refer customers to for information or that past customers can give to friends looking to have some work done. Word of mouth is a powerful tool but having something tangible to look at is always going to seal the deal. Do what’s best for you and your business and make sure you have a website dedicated to your company.

You have come to the conclusion that a contractor website will definitely help build your business. You have also realized that having that uniform style, across all avenues of your advertising, might be helpful in establishing your contractor business as a local celebrity. So all you have to do now is figure out what it is you are going to do about designing your image.

Your image is going to be the one thing above all else that is going to establish your brand and name in your local area. Getting some ideas for your contracting business’ image is easy. Incorporating that image into your advertising and website is the hard part. No matter what manner of contractor or business you are in, you know that your image is going to have to do some main aspect of you business. It does not matter if you are a contractor or a salon owner, image is the key element to success.

There are so many things you are going have to think about, whether you are going to use pictures to depict your image or illustrations. How the lay out of your business card is going to look. Who are you going to have do your printing. There is so much that is involved with this concept that in can be a little stressful to think about. The great thing is that you can hire someone to think it up and incorporate all this stuff for you. You are really busy so why waste your time. It is a lot better for you and you contractor business to hire a freelance designer or a design company to build this image for you.

Once the company has it approved by you, they can easily integrate it into all the branches of your advertising. They can design the website to match the business cards which will have the same look and feel as your flyers and other ads. What a great concept. If you’re a contractor you hire other people to do most of the labor for you. So you, above all people, understand the benefits of hiring out the jobs you do not have the time to do.

DreamCo Design is the company you call for all your media needs. You will have several industry related photos and the background colors should reflect the type of contractor you are.

For those of you that are in the contractor business you really need to consider the look and feel of your business. It may be hard to do, but realize that the image of your company is what is going to sell your services. That image is going to have to be correctly portrayed on your website. People like the uniform look and feel of products and services. You may also want to incorporate the look of your contractor website into other advertising avenues of your business.

Let’s say that you are a contractor and the main area that you get business in is build decks or even better you’re a landscaping contractor. Now you decide that a contractor website is something that is really going to benefit your business. Once you decide to go forward with a web designer or a web design company, keep in mind the look and feel you want your clients to experience. Right at that opening page you want to ”WOW” them. Let them know that not matter what your contractor business is the law in landscaping or deck building.

After you have established the look of your contractor website you may want to consider using that same look for your business cards, and possibly your flyers. Keeping that style you established for your contractor website uniform across the board of all you advertising avenues will help build an image for you. Like most local business they usually have catchy jingles or commercials. This builds their brand.

It is a known psychological fact that people tend to do business with brands that they are familiar with. In order to get that familiarity you need to get into the mind of the client you need to have that look that they will be familiar with. You want it so that when people think about building a deck or having a retaining wall built, they think of your business. The same way that when people in Chicago think about having new carpet put in, they immediately think of Empire carpet and that damn song.

Bottom line is that you can use your contractor website to your advantage by making it another avenue of advertising for your company. If you develop a style or look for your company or if you have one developed, use it on all the advertising avenues you have. It will build your companies business and make you an even more successful contractor.

DreamCo Design offers their clients several business solutions including quality web design.

No matter what type of contractor you are there are web design solutions out there for you. Most of the time contractors feel that having a website developed is going to be a costly endeavor. Well that can be true if you do not know where to look and what to look for.

Web design is a highly sought after service in the world of today. It seems that you really can’t do anything nowadays with out logging on to the web. This business can be costly if you are not careful. But if you search around for the right company you can find a web solution to fit your needs and your budget. Most people will see a pretty website and think that it costs a fortune. That could not be further from the truth. We are sure you contractors know better then anyone that it is not always the look that costs a bundle; it is what you have it do. That holds true for web design as well. Do not let some sly fox designer try to swindle you out of your cash just because they made a pretty looking contractor website.

Another thing you would want to look out for is those designers out there that just plug your information into a cookie cutter template and tosses it to the web. Your contractor website is going to be your image to the whole world of potential clients. If your website looks exactly the same as the contractor who lives down the street how is that going to help the two of you? What if your website has the same template as the salon down the street? Now you have three people in your neighborhood that have the same exact website just with different pictures and information. In the world of web design it is a known fact that different is good. Make sure your web designer is using a template that can be customized. Or if you have the extra scratch have one complete built form the ground up. That way no one has the same contractor website as you.

Another thing you would want to consider before going through with having a contractor website designed is that the designer allows you to revise your website. Most designers are really good about tweaking the websites they built for their customers. But we have come across many clients looking to have their websites fixed because after they were unable to get a hold of the designer. Then the clients realize that it is going to cost them more money to have a reliable person go back over the website to fix it, then in would have been to have it done right in the first place. So yeah, it may cost a bit more to have a good person or company design your contractor website, but in the long run you will be saving yourself a large headache.

Most contractors understand that their labor is their mark of expertise. If you do a great job it will create more great jobs for you in the future. If you do a crap job, once everyone catches on you won’t have any business. The same works in the web design world. If a company builds you a crap contractor website, you are most likely going to tell your other contractor buddies about it. Then they will tell their buddies and before you know it not a single contractor will be going to that company for a website. We believe that our best resources are our customers. You give you customer great service and a great product, and they will take care of you. It is a truth that is as old as time.

DreamCo Design believes in old fashion customer service. We offer two revision stages on all the websites we build. That means you get the exact contractor website you want. You also get a great customer service experience with our friendly staff. Also you get a great product for a great price. We also offer a price match for our clients. If you find a developer who will build for you the same contractor website for a lower price, call us. We will match their price and then beat it by 10%. DreamCo Design means great service. Give us a call today to see what DreamCo Design can do for all your contractor web design needs.

One of the best ways for a general contractor to build their business in the world today is to put your name out there to as many people you can. So if exposure is the key to a contractor’s success, then the best way to gain that exposure is to have a custom built website that tells people who you are and what you do.

Today having a business can be a little tough. There are only so many people out there that need the type of services you can offer. But there are tons of contractors biting for that same business. Having a custom built contractor website is the fist step you should make to grab those clients first. If you stay ahead of the game you should have no problem getting those customers and keeping them for life. Just think of your contractor website as your business card that is available for all to see 24/7. In fact in most cases having a contractor website is about just as important as having a business card.

Just think of the types of things you can do with a customized contractor website. Every aspect of your business can be promoted though the use of your website. You can give a small amount of information about what you or your team does for each job, and even have some pictures to go along with each. It is almost like putting your resume out for the world to see. In fact that’s the best way to think about it. Sell yourself on your website the same way you would sell yourself to a possible client.

It is also imperative that you have pictures that display your wide variety of services. It may even be a good idea to hire a photographer to take same before and after pictures. This may cost you a little bit of cash up front , but it will be so worth it in the long run. We live in an extremely visual world, and people want to see pictures of the things you have done. This will give your clients an idea of the things you are capable of doing. You would be surprised at how many people chose things simply based on their looks. We are a superficial society and as unfortunate as that may be in order to succeed you have to concede to it. This can only help your business.

DreamCo Design is dedicated to ensuring our customers get exactly what they want. Just like you we take our customer’s ideas and make them a reality. We can produce a great custom contractor website that will help build your business, and get your name out there. So go ahead and give DreamCo design a call for all your contractor web design needs.

After you have decided that getting a contractor website is the smart way to go, you may want to take a minute and think about a few things. Looking for a developer for your contractor website is a lot like shopping for a car. There are just certain things you look for to make sure that you’re getting a good product for a good price.

You would not buy a car without test driving it first, so do not have a contractor website developed without checking out what the developers have done. It seems like a pretty common thing to do but it is essential to your business to be a little picky about your website. Your website is going to be your online resume. You do not want to spend a boat load of cash on something that is going to look terrible and not work right.

It may be a good idea to talk to some other contractors to see if they have websites, and if they do who they had develop the website. But when doing this you have to keep in mind that you do not want your website to look just like those other contractors. You want your contractor website to stand out from the crowd. This way customers will be more willing to choose your services over that of the other contractors.

One of the biggest issues we see with contractor websites is that most just want to have an online presence. Pretty much a business card on the web. It is a very simple plain looking flat website. But if it is what you wanted we can do it. Now if you wanted something that has a little more jazz to it we can do that to. In fact it is probably the best for your business to have the jazzed up website. What you can do with your contractor website is almost limitless. You can have a page dedicated to each area of your services, a contact page, even a page that will allow clients to set up appointments with you.

You probably want to outline your services in an almost step by step fashion. You may also want to include a few pictures of each step of the project. This way you not only give the customer the information they need, but a visual of what they should expect to see. It would be a great idea to give as much information you can about all your services. This way you avoid being asked several questions that could have easily been taken care by looking at your website. Not that you are not willing to answer those questions, it is just known that the best customers are informed customers..

There are so many things you have to think about when dealing with considering to have a contractor website designed. DreamCo Design can help. We have developed over dozens of contractor websites for our clients. We know how busy you are, that is why you should let us handle taking care of your contractor website.
