After everything is said and done on your medical website it is ultimately you who has to keep things maintained. If you chose a freelance web designer you will most likely not be seeing them again. Once they are done with your site, they are done with you, in most cases. With a web design company you can never be sure if they will offer to help you with updates and if you need help. There are some special web design companies that go above and beyond for their customers. Making sure that they are fully satisfied and taken care of even after their websites are completed. If you happen to find one of these web design companies you should know that you’ve chosen wisely.

For the smaller updates you can choose to go through your web design company but if you’re going to be needing many changes or always having to have technical help then hiring a webmaster for your medical website is going to be the best choice. Granted, most medical websites don’t enough changes to justify having a webmaster, but the decision is up to you. Having your web design company make small changes every once in a while is suitable if that is all you need.

Medical Web Design: Healthy Optimization

9:45 am

After your site is live and finished there is always one more thing to do. Most people don’t know much about SEO or search engine optimization and there is even less who know how to do it properly. There are a lot of different ways to go about doing SEO work on your medical website. There are acceptable ways to go about doing SEO and there are ways to go about it that is considered “cheating the system”. SEO is something that should be discussed with your web designer after the project is complete or close to being complete.

SEO is something that every website should have done; it really is a necessity if you do most of your business on the internet and especially if you want to be found on major search engines. Search engine optimization is something that can be continuously done, it never has to stop and it really shouldn’t. Having continuous search engine optimization work done for your website will make sure that you keep rising the in natural rankings of the search engines or stay at the top (if that is where you are). Getting to be number one on the natural search engine rankings for a broad term is a hard task. With continuous SEO work you can make sure that you are getting the most out of your website.

Your web designer may not offer SEO work but they may know where you can go to get SEO work done. Most of them will have some sort of connection, at least, to someone who can help you with the SEO work. Search engine optimization is something that you should really consider for your medical website. I don’t know how to say it any clearer. There is no point to being on the internet and having a medical website if you can’t be found. For more information on medical web design check us out at DreamCo Design - Medical Web Design. Medical Web Design: Your Duty To Your Website

8:36 am

When your web designer starts building your website you may think that now is the time you can sit down, relax, and wait for you website to be built. Well this couldn’t be farther from the truth because you still have a lot to do. Your web designer is going to ask you about your content; content being the text and images on a website. You need to submit or give your content to your web designer. If your medical website isn’t going to be that large then this task is an easy one. Bigger websites obviously have more content and you will need to take a bit more time to get everything together. Nevertheless, you should try to get everything together quickly because it will keep your medical web design project moving forward.

No one knows your medical practice or career better than you. This is why I encourage everyone who is looking to build a website to write their own content. Usually content that comes from the client is more personal and informative. There is one exception to this rule, if you have all the information about your medical practice together or have problems writing there is always an option for a professional writer to be brought in. Some web design companies have content writers available for you to use in this way. Don’t depend on them to make your text exactly how you want it. Writing styles are different with each person and you should realize this before deciding to hire one. If you have specific instructions on how you want your text written then you should specify.

Gathering all your content for you medical website isn’t as hard as you think. The images are the easy part; all you have to do is take some pictures around your office with a digital camera. Make sure that they aren’t extremely amateur looking because you want to portray how professional you are. After you give all this content to your web designer you are finally relieved of your duties for the time being. Medical Web Design: Make Note

8:10 am

As you’re finally getting everything sorted out and ready to go; deciding you want to build a medical website, making a reasonable budget, choosing a web designer, and everything in between, there is still work to do. After partnering up with a web designer to get your project underway the first thing that you are going to go over with them is what you want your website to look like and how you want it to function. Some thought should have been put into this topic before you begin your project at all. If you don’t have any ideas how you want your medical website to look, go to other health and medical websites to find out what attributes you like. Whether it is design or any type of functionality that is offered.

When looking at these other medical websites it would be a good idea to write some ideas down. Whether it sparks a thought or whether it is exactly how you want something, either way, make note of it and bring it to your web designer. They should be able to implement it into your website one way or another; it’s either that or they will offer you their own ideas and suggestions. A good web designer is one that guides you into making good decisions for your medical website.

Don’t be afraid to have your own ideas. If you think of something original, mention it to your web designer and they should be able to discuss with you about it. If it is really that important to you and you’re willing to pay for the development of it, then there should be no problem. All of your thoughts and ideas is what is going to drive the website to be done in the way that you see fit. Medical Web Design: The Two Sides

February 27, 2008 4:26 pm

After realizing all the time, effort, and money that you are going to be putting into your medical website the next thing that should take place is the choosing of a web designer. There are going to be many out there to choose from and you should choose wisely. Although there is no way of perfectly doing this without the proper knowledge of web design and what a web designer is and what they do. This is going to be the purpose of this post, to show you what to look for and what is out there when choosing a web designer.

When choosing a web designer you should think about the two main possibilities that are out there; freelancers and web design companies. Freelancers are always going to be a single person, there are many of them out there and they are usually somewhat cheaper than a web design company. You have to realize that with a freelancer comes a gray area of doubt, the fact that they are not tied down by anything. One minute they are available and the other they don’t even exist. This is not the case with all freelancers but it is always a possibility. If you decide to go with a freelancer trust is the most important factor in your relationship, the second is reliability.

A web design company is going to be your best bet for reliability and quality. With an established company you can rest assured that your website is in good hands. Of course there are going to be some companies that are the exception to this case. In the broad spectrum of things a web design company is a little higher in price as far as your medical website is concerned, but it is also going to be a much better choice in the long run. It is really up to you who you choose for your web designer, and you should think about your decision carefully.
